I would love to take a minute to tell you my passion and drive behind AbundantlyMe.
For starters, you matter to me. Not only were we made to be in community, but I especially feel led to empower, equip and enrich others' lives by sharing my life with others. The fullest expression of myself is when I'm 'living out loud' by sharing my great mountaintop moments, the painful and possibly embarrassing moments, the weary and teary, as well as the successes and hardships. I refuse to let anyone believe that I have it all together or that I can do anything with my own strength.
I dare not.
I turned the love I have for others into my business. I serve from a place of wholeness and truth which in turn means I'm not desperate or depleted as a business owner. I serve joyfully knowing that it's what God is calling me to do. With that said, there are four values that drive my work.
The first driving force behind my work is Jesus Christ.
I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for my faith. There was a time I was ashamed to share this part of my life because I didn’t want to offend or compete with other’s beliefs or add on to the hurt that the church may have already imposed. The last six years I have, little-by-little, surrendered the worry of what others think and cared better for them by being true to myself and sharing the truth of where I get my strength, tenacity and joy.
Life is an adventure to say the least. We have an opposing force at work against our lives. My life hasn’t been without its struggles and hardships. I know that the world, other voices and values, our past experiences or worry of the future can steal the joy of today. That is why my life and business are founded on John 10:10, The enemy comes to steal and kill and destroy; Jesus came to give life in abundance (my translation, wink).
Another force behind the name AbundantlyMe is present – future focused.
As the business name - Abundantly Me - is typed or said aloud, it makes the statement that it is a current truth. No matter what is going on in our lives, we have the option to step into alignment with abundance at any moment. It is up to us to choose what we are going to focus on - life over death, love over hate, light over darkness, truth over facts, healing over stuck in pain, abundance over scarcity.
We have the response-ability to live with intention and not by default (of our past) or on autopilot, so we can have the freedom to choose and not be a victim to our circumstances. So, when I work with others in a professional setting (or even dear friends) we don’t focus on the past. I try to create a space that is safe and supportive for the vulnerability of other’s stories, as well as gently nudging clients to respond to life with an abundance-mindset rather than react and retract.
Love is the other force that drives me and my business.
Perfect love always wins. Always. Choosing to filter the circumstances of life through love rather than fear is the goal. The way I show love is to try to listen more than speak, honor the other person’s story without judgement, be curious together through powerful questions with the heart postured towards understanding all the while aligning with an abundance-mindset myself.
I have had a lot of practice trying to filter life’s circumstance through love, but I also still find myself stepping out of alignment and filtering circumstances through the lens of fear. The latter never plays out well. Once I learned to pause in the moment, choose love (aka Jesus, light, abundance) and then respond, I not only felt the ‘awkward sense of peace’ in the moment of strife, but I also noticed the positive ripple effects that blessed the people around me.
The “me” in AbundantlyMe honors the uniqueness of you.
Coming back full circle to how this letter started – you matter. You matter to God, you matter to your loved ones and to the healing of this world. You have unique qualities and gifts that is meant to be shared with others. The goal is to be fully alive all the while allowing Jesus to fully work through your unique vessel. You aren’t meant to be like your successful friend, family member or co-worker who seems to have it all together. You’re not even meant to be like the person on social media.
You, fully being you, is what will make a difference in your life as well as in the lives of those you influence. Be loved and love others as you love yourself (again, my version of John 13:34 & Matthew 22:39). Which brings all this together in a great, supportive coaching partnership.
